The lake is known to the locals as Syulyuklyu pond (or the Leeches pond). It is presumed that it was full of leeches which were used from the elderly as a cure. The water gushed out at the spot, but in the 70’s of the last century, the lake area was extended about 0.3 ha and was utilized for irrigation.
The water lilies appeared in the lake some 20 years ago but no one knows how they got here.
The lake is a tourist attraction for the region. Those, who climb to the Dambala peak, because of its healing water, could stop by and enjoy the beauty of the water lilies. A road leads to the lake.
