Water Mirror in Kardzhali
The project "Strengthening the banks of the Arda River near the town of Kardzhali" is complex because it consists of 10 subprojects. It aims at building an impressive channel on the Arda River with retaining walls along both sides that form a water mirror with a length of 3 km and a width of 160 meters.It starts at about 300 meters after the wall of "Kardzhali" dam and reaches the bridge in "Veselchane" quarter. It goes all the way to the beginning of “ Studen Kladenets” dam.
Two main collectors on the left and right bank collect sewage water and in the future will take it to the wastewater treatment plant.
The weir is a unique hydro facility. It has an impressive size and volumetric flow rate - 9 hydraulic segment gates with, creating depth at the weir of 4.50 m when closed. When the turbines are working, the depth is 5,30 m , with a release of 160 cubic meters per second.

Each partner represents each region for the implementation of the Action 3.2 "Content Collection" for the approved applitcation form of JTI - TARGET project under "Greece - Bulgaria 2007 -2013" Interreg Call. The content including images, photos, graphics, texts, textures and in general all the data of the portal is in the responsibility of each partner. The content update and upload of each region belongs to each partner which has also the copyright for those content. This means that the content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Smolyan belongs to the Partner Regional Administration of Smolyan. The content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Haskovo belongs to the Partner Regional Administration of Haskovo, The content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Kardzhali belongs to the Partner Regional Administration of Kardzhali, The content in this portal of all the point of interests of the Region of Region of East Macedonia & Thrace belongs to the Partner Region of East Macedonia & Thrace.
