The circular tower of Thimonia is located in SE. part of the Thasos island, a short distance from Aliki and the coastal dentate of Shidia village. It is the largest tower in the island, it is situated on the top of a limestone hill, and it seems to dominate the surrounding fertile plain. Until today, no excavations have taken place in the tower, but the impressive number of architectural elements found throughout the area, testifies the large original height and the attractive possibility of restoration and utilization. Nowdays, we discern the equipped with ekforic relieving triangle entrance and the remains of other buildings in the region.
