It has a remarkable collection of paintings by artists who were active in the area. It also hosts a large part of the work of the important painter Hariklia Hadjisavvas-Fotiou. In the museum you can explore a collection of approximately 1000 books which relate mainly to the history of the city and Thrace in general.

Next to the permanent exhibition of the Historical Museum of Alexandroupolis, a rich archival material has been collected consisting of photographs, publications, newspapers, magazines and old objects. All material refers to the history of the city and is archived and digitized. It is worth noting that the material is constantly enriched.
