It is believed that the Roman road near the village of Dolni Glavanak was part of the main road connecting Via Singidunum Serdica (modern Sofia) with Konstinopol (or Constantinople - now Istanbul) was used since the V century BC, and had a strategic importance. During the Roman period, it was paved with solid stone flooring and along his road were built many stations, the distances between them are marked with milliar columns.
